About 850 dogs and cats are registered in the Municipal Corporation. Their price ranges from 70 to 80 thousand rupees. The price of a Himalayan cat is 35000 rupees. In private hospitals, the prescription for their treatment ranges from 100 to 500 rupees.
At the same time, general treatment costs from one thousand to fifteen hundred rupees. Whereas, in Kabirchaura, this work is done at the Municipal Corporation’s veterinary hospital on a prescription of only 10 rupees. That is why their owners get their pets treated here.
Veterinarian Dr. Shashank Kumar Pandey said that about 600 animals are treated every month. Most of them are foreign breed dogs, cats, birds, white rats. About 7 foreign breed pets are treated every day. A charge of Rs. 10 is taken from them.
Some medicines are available in the hospital. The rest of the medicines have to be bought from outside. These are less expensive. Foreign breed animals are not accustomed to the weather of India. Therefore, as soon as the weather changes, they start falling sick.
The owner of the animals said that their food and living habits are different. Also, their maintenance has to be done according to the weather. Which costs one thousand rupees daily. If there is any lack in their care, their health deteriorates.
